Gay discrimination is OK
The right is obviously opposed to gay marriage, but apparently the Administration also thinks it's OK to discriminate against someone in the workplace because of their sexual orientation.

This is from today's Washington Post:

"A newly arrived Republican appointee has pulled references to sexual orientation discrimination off an agency Internet site where government employees can learn about their rights in the workplace.

The Web pages at the Office of Special Counsel, an independent agency whose mission is to protect whistleblowers and other federal employees from retribution, has removed references to sexual orientation from a discrimination complaint form, training slides, a brochure titled "Your Rights as a Federal Employee" and other documents."

If you're Republican, it must feel awesome to be on the side that hates gay people. If you're a Republican, repeat after me -- "I hate gay people."

Don't you feel better now?

White hat vs Black hat, Good vs Evil, Democrat vs Republican

Is that how simply you see things?

If you're a Republican, repeat after me -- "I hate gay people."

If Republicans hate gay people as you say I highly doubt you would get 1% support for gay marriage or civil unions much less the 64% in this poll.

I think hate is a pretty strong term to be throwing around and those that use it should look in the mirror first.

You dont't know what you are talking about. You are just taking everyone else's word on everything. Over the years I have had gay friends, one of my female couins is now male,my old girlfriend's sister turned male. I will tell you this they(queers, gays, homoes, whatever)lead misable lives. Sure on Tv they act all happy and Gay but if you ever lived with or around them you would know how misable they really are. 1st they have their sex organs removed and changed to look like the opposite that they are. Then years later bemoan the fact that they can't have children. As a group they are more violent to their partners than any other group of people. I dont hate people who are gay I feel sorry for them, but at the same time it is not a rational or natural way of life, it is a handicap, like being born with no arms or legs, a burden, not just for them but for us...their families. My cousin (female} who is now male with a plastic penis and beard from hormone shots...Shows up at least a couple a times a year at my door in the middle of the night drunk, and crying wishing he/she had never had that sex change, relizing now she/he can never have children. Am I supposed to keep comforting this person year after year...explaining to my own children what is wrong with my cousin? I warned her/him years ago not to take such a drastic step. I told her/him to just get a strapon, that it would be the same as having a permenant piece of plastic attached to her body except there would be no side effects,no permanant damage if she changed her mind later in life. But No she wouldn't listen to reason. So now she suffers a mental and physical torture that is dragging down not only her,but her aging parents (whom she sometimes blames for her condition)and us her extended family. So blah-blah-blah.you dont know what you are talking about. I would say you are more like a trained parrot just repeating something you heard that is easy to verbilize.

RC,

Who were you addressing in your post; Brett or the other poster? I have re-read your post a dozen times and can't tell for sure. My fear is that you are a troll but, on the chance that you are not, would like to know because it might allow me to make more sense of your response.

Given the non-heterosexual-phobic* slant, my $$$ is on it being to Brett.

You mention that these folks live miserable lives. Might that be because they are forced to live in a world that provides little comfort? In fact, rumor has it that there are (gasp!) people who actually hate them just for their orientations and would like to see them all punished for their immoral and wicked ways.

*I figured that was the most neutral term to describe it. Although looking at it, I now wonder if it is some sort of double-negative. I leave that to someone better versed in English than I to weigh in on.

Regards,

Fats
